  1. My understanding is your XUMM app isn't doing the lookup every 15 minutes, it's the XUMM internal servers. When your app goes to send a payment, it's then asks XUMMs servers which if the list you're sending to is a bad actor.
  2. I've been out of the loop for a while. Is Joe Joe one of the bad guys?
  3. Happy anniversary all. Im expecting we have another of these before I realise any meaningful gains but boy has it been a wild journey.
  4. Yeah this is great news and progress, but the bank account was what sparked my interest. Especially that they note it's mostly global. I'll be looking into getting one for sure (even if I only use it for testing)
  5. This is similar to the Linux application methodology. Make an application that does one thing, but does it exceptionally well, and make it interoperable (in its case everything uses stdin/out) so that people requiring higher level solutions can easily combine multiple high quality tools to create a stable and performant solution. Far better than trying to make a single app do everything but do none of it better than all the individual competitors.
  6. Alternatively to using a wallet with this feature. You can call the accountdelete function yourself. https://xrpl.org/accountdelete.html
  7. That tax bracket is purely where I'll be if I cash out at the price I want to, definitely not my current net worth. I'm poor as shit right now
  8. Yeah if I hold for over 12 months they will only tax 50% of my profits, but still at 47%
  9. ... I'll have to pay 47% (then -50% for hodl longer than 12 months).
  10. When you tried to import into XUMM did you choose "Import an existing account", and then "Full Access" and then "Family seed"? If you choose read only or any other option it won't accept your private key.
  11. Oh damn... so we get to see what they spoke to external parties about, but not internal comms... I feel like the internal ones are where all the spice is at.
  12. Why is this a news story? 1 billion is released from escrow every month and has done for years now... Almost each time it's not even Ripple that unlocks it, it's some fun loving chump putting funny messages in the memos.
  13. I disagree about that. $30mil a day is a lot. It may not sound like it compared to daily volumes in the billions, but it is. It's also not straight volume. Jed isn't trading, he's not buying back and interacting in two way trading. He's only selling, which both increases supply and decreases demand, as well as applying downward pressure on the price. There 100% is a phycological component to his ongoing sales, but the end of them I believe will also have a genuine market impact even if its not an immediate large increase.
  14. Look at the volume difference between now and ATH, mmm yum yum.
  15. I take mine from random strangers on the internets
  16. Posted this in Zerpening half an hour ago but figured I'd post here too: Last 4 x 1 hourlys went up to top of trend line, then clear bounce off the 0.236 fib, and now appears to have broken above the wedge. If it can maintain the breakout I think we'll see a return of the upward movement.
  17. 1. The original Ripplex wallet is perfectly safe, however is no longer maintained so unless you read through all the github code yourself and build it from source I wouldn't use it. 2. DO NOT accept a copy of the old binary (exe) from another person. That is a sure fire way to lose your funds. I also have a copy of the original software but would never suggest anyone uses my copy. 3. Do you have the secret/private/backup key written down anywhere (like the old wallet told you to do on creation)? It should start with a lower case s like sXXXXXXXXXXX. If so you can use that secret key to access the wallet in any trustworthy wallet software. I suggest XUMM on Android and iOS.
  18. Not as positive as I hoped but definitely good to have some perspective. Always appreciate your insights mate, cheers.
  19. @Pablo Any insights into how big of a deal this is? Do courts/judges tend to find this as a big F U and put down serious repurcussions on the offender, or more just a "stop that"
  20. I believe brian's comment above would have cleared this up, but a fairly easy to understand analogy is as follows: Your house has a front and back door, both are completely separate and unique doors, however access is granted via the same key. Flare uses the same cryptography to generate keypairs as Eth, so your private/secret key for Eth will generate the same public address on the Flare network as it does on the Eth network.
  21. I'm far from a conspiracy theorist, but there is some shady ass shit going on here. I really hope an independent investigation/audit is conducted to find out not if, but how corrupt these guys have been.
