Today Galgitron posted a very interesting snapshot from his spreadsheet. I analyzed it quickly to give a better understanding of the numbers behind the chart. The main focus are: Remittances And Payments between: 20 - 1,500 XRP (6 - 500$) Medium Payments between: 1,500 - 15,000 XRP (500 - 5,000$) Multiple things are interesting: The increase for both segments began at the same time, around mid February (Some event may have happened to trigger such strong surges) The increases are proportionally similar, slightly stronger for small payments, which seems logical in regards to remittances There are twice more small payments of 500$ max than payments of 15,000$ max, which again seems logical (low value, high volume)

I’d say 1 - 1.5 years after the Production release is very fast for banks. I am not holding my breath. I suspect the next bull run will have nothing to do with xRapid or its usage. Sorry, I can’t agree. Pilots are just that, pilots. Nobody really invests at that stage. Everything starts when you passed a Pilot stage and is in Production.

So neither statistics nor answers, right? Yes, I have been long enough around. I am neither a troll nor fudder. I have been wsiting patiently but my patience is coming to an end for xrp. We have been told xrp would be used by banks in 2017, 2018, 2019... People can make mistakes in assumptions but doing so when you are ceo of a big company and makes these statements several times publicly something is not right...

You never know what could potentially start the thinking process. It is always thought provoking to read posts from smart people who have reasonable doubts (or hidden agenda). Kind of miss @MaxEntropy lately. It is as if Ripple’s marketing team is led by a technical guy who thinks that you can win masses over by stating facts while many recent examples in politics teach us otherwise. Either that or Ripple is not interested in masses. Which is why it was very strange to see statements from @BobWay that he was impressed by marketing results.

Hi! I'm Bob. I'd like to present and discuss some material I have on XRP, the XRP Ledger, "rippling" payments, financial systems, money, blockchains and more. I hope you will bring your personal experience to the discussion so I can learn about new business and monetary needs. We can then discuss how best to apply "rippling" technologies to help solve those problems. My name is: Bob Way. Please call me "Bob" rather than Mr. Way. I'm also known as: @bob_way on twitter I am monolingual (English only) and tend to bias my discussion with Americanisms. I'm hoping y'all can help fix that. I'm currently in Houston, TX on central daylight time (GMT -5) I'm hoping to travel to meet other regional teams, but I'm too flaky for you to count on as an actual team member.

No, it’s the opposite: XRP is under hyped by some community members and that’s why it’s stuck at $ 0.30. So.........let’s hype!

I’m afraid you’ll learn nothing from a few frustrated overinvested disbelievers. Wonder why they bother to continu posting their little fears and doubts. For comfort? Anyway: crypto is still very risky and may fail 100% with XRP not being an exception. At this point you believe in the potential or you don’t. In case of the latter, one should better sell and invest elsewhere as opportunity costs accumulate every hour you’re invested. Regarding Ripple’s marketing team I must confess that since the beginning ( for me july 2017) I’m not very impressed by them. There’s a certain lack of professionalism, idk, too many big or small bloopers as far as I’m concerned. The only reasons I can think of for not targetting Retail is the SEC discussion and/or retail not being the target group. But yes: a little more general untargetted exposure of XRP ( just for general brand recognition) would be nice imo.

    SEC and escrow

Something cannot be a security and a currency at the same time. A digital currency without an active operating utility network is, effectively, a currency without an actual country backing it up. Until that point all anyone has to go on is the promise of a company telling you there's a home country for a currency being built - it's coming soon but is not here yet. Until there is a standing stable ecosystem for utility and trade a digital asset remains a security. As for the escrow, I agree with the assessment SPQR has come up with which is that there is nothing to stop Ripple from selling their escrow in advance through negotiated futures contracts and that much of it has already been reserved in this way at a lucrative price. The escrow then provides custodial security until Polysign is fully operational. Has nothing whatsoever to do with the SEC who are waiting for network effects to reach an as yet undetermined threshold before declaring it as much a currency as BTC or ETH. My guess is that it will take a few more corridor announcements before that happens, but perhaps not many more if they carry significant volumes.

agree or not, Ripple company is the center of XRP, they have too much hold, too much power. in the community, many people are ripple fans not XRP fans, ripple followers not XRP followers. because the community is too young and don't hold much XRP as ripple, they have to follow ripple, rely ripple.

xrapid did go live last October, but has been around in beta form for years before that, and certainly tested with more than afew FIs in that time. it's not exactly new. my bank had papers written about it 4 years ago about its potential for being a disruptor hence the trials.

XRP being considered a security could be a good thing though. XRP holders would become shareholders of Ripple the company which is obviously doing better than XRP.

36 cents? Steady on there...that's an outrageous prediction. You've been watching too many world currency conspiracy videos! Having said that, I don't see how XRP couldn't reach what some my consider the outlandish value of 34.2 cents. Once xRapid goes fully live, expect all those extra billions in liquidity to send XRP's price high into the stratosphere, bursting through the 34 cents barrier. When that happens, we'll have to do a meet-up at my local park. A local shop nearby sells cheap 3-litre cider there. We can have a party to end all parties.

No one has a crystal ball, we all do our best with the information we have at hand. You might not have a lot but you will go far in this world if you are willing to take risks at the same time as being level headed. 5K XRP might not be worth a lot today, but in a few years time people might say "Wow, do you really own 5k XRP? I wish I could afford to invest that much."

I have nothing against others doing their own research and reaching other conclusions, and I am sure other coins will do well in the future. I am also sure that other investors will do better than I do, but quite frankly that does not concern me because I am not in a race with them. I am concerned to invest in the one Crypto that is far ahead of the others in the biggest market of all - frictionless, secure and cheap cross border payments for bank, fintech, retail, micropayment streaming.....For me it is a no brainer to stick with Ripple XRP and be patient. Well done for spotting other winners and good luck

Prediction where XRP would be if Bitcoin go again to 20k I think it would be between 1 and 1.5 (I am hoping for higher, but every logic tell me differently) The catalyst that drove XRP to $3 are gone ("crazy" south koreans with their premiums, big hopes what miracles coinbase could do). Also i guess people in last year and half also learned that ripple products didnt move XRP not even a dime, price was dictated by bitcoin. Sorry if you take this as fud, i still hold 70% of xrp compared to half year ago, but lies and misleading on this forum made me trade part of xrp in last half year to some other crypto. I also bought new crypto with fresh money in last half year, but it was "other crypto". I am still hoping on miracles, so if someone asks "why you didnt convert all xrp if you think so", my answer is: I still have hopes, so I converted like 30%, but all new bought crypto with fresh FIAT is other crypto (bitcoin, ether, binance coin, dash and trx), so i guess with new fresh, not my xrp is less then 50% (but still no1...at least for now)
  34. 1 point
Agreed, not only Ripple, but the whole crypto sphere needs to start delivering something that ressembles to real life use cases with the potential of short term mass usage and we’ll see a bullrun again. Otherwise sideways action at best.

This is cool. Gonna participate. I developed the same application but on Ethereum. @eXRPe how did you technically achieve this on XRP ledger without using smart contracts? Or do you manually collect all TXs and then sending them manually to the winner?

I also didn't like people here keep saying banks FIs, it's good news for ripplenet, for ripple company, not XRP ledger, year after year, they still not use XRP ledger, what stop them now will continue stop them to use XRP in the future. the JPM coin is a good example. xrapid volume is too small on XRP ledger. xpring is another way to sell XRP and maybe some good projects will show up , let's hope it's not too late, better than nothing.

It was not "stupid", it was a sensible rational decision to put your money into the asset which has been making the most technological progress. XRP ecosystem continues to grow and deepen faster than any other asset and its use case is at the very heart of commerce. You cannot buck XRP's development model of real use in the real world forever. This does not mean that others will not outperform XRP in the short term, or that XRP might not crash when others rise. Backing the best horse at the beginning of the race does not guarantee winning, but consistently backing the best horse will provide you with the highest investment to return ratio. IT you made profit on BNB and then switched to XRP, you gained XRP and did well, you just misjudged the top of the market (Judgin the top is about luck). Of course if there is fault in your reasoning about which is the best horse, that would be your misjudgement and you will have backed losers. Personally I am 98% XRP 2% ADA, but it looks as if ADA team have weaknesses ://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/cardano-news-update-is-ada-coin-experiencing-trouble-in-paradise/. Maybe I should just go back to be 100% XRP.

    Answer: Wen Moon?

so in summary, is it fair to conclude that ripple (or another designated entity) sitting on a massive pile of xrp is in fact a preferable strategy to distributed minting (mining) and other token distribution methods? this is what i always thought was ripple's secret sauce, not because of how much they own in and of itself, but bc they can use the stash to bootstrap and fund liquidity over and over again until xrp is a defacto bridging asset... and in fact, even if we assume a BETTER (faster, cheaper, more secure) network token comes along, it can't compete without using the same strategy (of holding back massive amounts of the token to fund the network rolout and liquidity incentives)
  49. 1 point
But x-rapid is basically wash trading. Its buying and then immediately selling. There's isn't enough volume on earth to support anything near $10,000 xrp.
