  3. Switching off their validators unannounced would make the ledger more vulnerable if a few more validators fail if they keep announcing their current recommended UNL. If they don't announce further updated UNLs, the network would likely grind to a halt once the current recommended list runs out and people don't quickly reconfigure their validators.

  4. No, I have no idea who that is, my name is Ron. I've met several people from this forum in person, via Skype, and phone who can verify that. I'm replying while taking a break from reading the two Flare network whitepapers. I'm so impressed that I may make a video or post about their work. The economics is right, the potential that unleashes is huge. I sense some keen brilliance.

  5. Opinions are one thing, like an investment thesis they can be valuable to an investor. However, "The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent."If you are Long XRP, and not using Leverage to buy XRP, just chill and check back in later unless you want to keep up with the innovation, tech, and industry growth. Feelings are another thing, and are very dangerous to an investor, especially Retail Investors who are not using professional methods. High expectations make poor travel partners. I learned this personally, while having a great time backpacking and

"We are thrilled to announce that the State of Wyoming has approved Kraken’s application to form the world’s first Special Purpose Depository Institution (SPDI), and has granted a charter to Wyoming's newest state-chartered bank, tentatively called "Kraken Financial." Headquartered in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Kraken Financial will enable Kraken clients in the U.S. to bank seamlessly between digital assets and national currencies. F

  14. When the question was asked about mitigating now David answered with the following (by memory and not actual quote). If mitigation was done now to the ledger to prevent quantum attacks which could be done we would have to live with those changes for ever. My Thoughts: It seems the idea is that the more we learn about how quantum attacks could/do occur, the defensive mechanisms will be more concrete and less speculative. Therefore creating less of a burden on the system.

  15. Where is this confirmed? As per the Flare site: If you self custody, your Spark tokens will be delivered by a set of smart contracts operating on the Flare network either at launch or as soon as the network registers your claim from reading the XRPL. You may claim Spark after the network goes live but not after the 6 month date from the Snapshot. The Spark tokens will be delivered to the Flare address specified during the claim process. At launch there will be several Flare compatible wallets to choose from. If you hold your XRP at a supporting exchange they will deliver the Spa

  19. This is what happens if you take everything you read for granted. It's a bad excuse that you 'just find and post information'. Especially if you just present it to others as facts without even thinking one second about it or do simple math. It's somewhat lazy. I see so many factually wrong conclusions and tinfoil thinking patterns in your reply that it will be too time consuming to adress them. Basing your assumptions of liquidity and moving XRP on a fanmade website like Utility Scan, that very likely has an incomplete picture of ODL channels when listening to official Ripple sources

So that's about 4,7% increase. Am I blind or what, because I don't see the exponential increase these bold red letters try to make me believe. In fact, one year earlier it was around 8%, so if anything, the inflation has slowed. However, It's a great example to demonstrate how to implement micropayments into a content creator platform... I hope Youtube is watching, and will implement this in the future.

  27. Yea, I definitely modeled my addresses after Ripple's account security; use all 8 multi-signature slots with 50% signature consensus to transact, master key disabled. If that doesn't save my XRP, then it won't save Ripple's either, they've got 3-4 billion in some of their addresses. I can live with that, quantum attacks be damned.

The XRPL would not use the 6 or so Ripple validators (since they would now be offline) and rely on the other 142 validators in the XRPL - source : https://xrpcharts.ripple.com/#/validators Any node can add any other node in its list of validators it uses to validate - the UNL is merely a recommendation.

Look at Boeing 737 max8, look ast what IPCC tells people about global warming, look at the lie behind renewable energies. Legally constrained companies lie every day. It's part of the business. When you sell something there is always a % (small or big that's the point) of lie in what you say in order to sell. Politicians lie during every campaign. so who's the superficial now? Now you tell me ODL tracker I have posted is incomplete. So where do I find unbiased and complete information, so that I can have a real picture of the "facts"? instead of replying "too much time consuming to explain" take your time and explain. I am seeking information I can trust!!!!!

  41. I've heard estimates that Ripple runs 16% of the XRP validators. TBH I don't know exactly how the XRP node network is set up, but coming from some experience in AWS VPC, if the XRP network is configured for redundancy there are likely parallel slave nodes on standby that would spin up and take over duties as soon as they detected the master nodes went offline. There's many other ways to set up redundancy, but that's a popular way. If you mean 'what if they shut down everything on purpose with no backups on standby', then I'd assume the remaining online validators would then account for 10

  42. BTC continues to push higher and all of the alts, including the other majors (ETH and XRP, etc) have nothing to show for it. Up to this point, alts have been easily outpacing the plodding BTC but that theme seems to be reversed for now. This could be a very bullish development if BTC can run up first and then alts play catch up, just like it used to be in the good ol' days.
