  1. Wasn't on there at the start of the month. They have been on the ripplenet committee. They are part of the big 4 here in Australia. I also asked them on twitter not too long ago about using XRP for transfers.

  2. i thought that i saw joel katz say something about a mixture of metcalfe's law and jevons paradox would give rise to price with sufficient corridors and volume. sometimes called the "network effect". I need to read more of bobs book club but while i respect galgitron i agree i don't believe he is correct on that one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jevons_paradox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metcalfe's_law

  5. They gush a bit about Ripple and xRapid "Ripple has become our key partner for settling cross border payments using digital assets" "Sooo excited to announce today that moneygram is live and settling transactions on the xRapid platform" "we started executing trades this week and all signs point to this being a tremendously beneficial relationship for all parties involved" "we are literally settling trades in seconds and quote my friend Larry 'this is really cool'"

  7. People say the market is smart. I think the market is emotional. XRP has a use case. That is huge. A large company has moved into the space. The majority of the U.S. stock market was in the red so moneygram moving up in price bucks the trend. The same happened with another company Ripple signed on with. I think that the majority of money sharks are going to take from people will come from bitcoin. It will be hyped as it always has. Eventually a choice will be made by which asset has a fundamental value due to usage. For right now xrp is in the lead. This is great news. Traders are going to hed

  8. Just did comparison of sending $100 Aud to india bia Moneygram vs western union. Found moneygram much cheaper showing cost of $1 to send $100, good on u moneygram, and even their exchange price was much better, western union showed $0 fee to send money but their exchange rate was much lower resulting in less money being received comparatively so it shows the potential for moneygram

  9. O jeezz. Not this again. Who knows. IT’S ALL SPECULATION, it could go to $ 100 or to $ 0. It’s a waiting game, and yes, all fudsters could be right in the end, would be a pity and atm I don’t think they will, but it’s very well possible. As bonus this post from @Trendkill .

  10. We can expect an update on from the FPTF on Monday. The video will be live streamed on YouTube as well. https://www.regreport.info/2019/08/02/with-decision-from-fed-pending-on-faster-payments-key-governor-plans-speech-on-payments-systems/ “Payment systems” is the topic a speech scheduled for Monday by Federal Reserve Board Gov. Lael Brainard in Kansas City, following closely on the heels of comments by the Fed’s board chairman this week that a decision on Fed involvement in a “real-time payments” system was coming soon. Brainard will be delivering the remarks at th

The combination of their innovation coupled with VISA in cross-border payments has huge potential, they say.

  15. That's a really narrow look at the future. Let's say BTC goes on a run and gets 80% dominance of the market and the cryptospace has a market cap of $500Bn, $400Bn belonging to BTC. You think BTC holders are blind to the most obvious opportunity in the world to them? You think rather than pivot to alts, they'll just dumbly hold onto BTC and hope its dominance will go to 90%, 95% etc? Even if it did, it would give them another 25%, 30% ... whatever....while ignoring an obvious 2x (and more) by pivoting to alts with the same amount of money? History shows that smart money is smart - it pivots f

  16. Probably should be on a different thread, but I'll give you the Cliff's Notes. I deposit my XRP on Celsius, and get paid in XRP. They were briefly offering pay-out in CEL, but apparently they had some legal issues there and so they stopped after a very brief period. The CEL token has taken it in the. shorts since then. Holding it gets you an interest bonus....hasn't caught on yet, much, looks like to me. As of now, I am not buying CEL. It trades on the Liquid exchange though, I believe. I like Celsius. The interest they pay is less than some others, but they use BitGo too, and I

  17. In fact one has to have 4 exit strategies : sell strategy, convert to fiat strategy, cash out to your bank strategy and last but not least: what to do with all that money strategy: > set fixed targets at which you want to sell ( e.g. 10 % at $ 5, 15% at $ 15 etc) and STICK TO IT! > how do you convert to fiat ( if you’re on a exchange without XRP/ desired fiat pair) Best is to spread your holdings ( or destinations for your wallet) into at least 2 or 3 trusted exchanges ( with fiat pairs preferably). Make sure you have cleared KYC up to a tiers at which you can withdraw enoug

  18. @QuizPops @Raekwon @Javim777 I enjoy these kinds of discussions because they promote the thought process necessary to properly prepare for the next parabolic rise. More specifically, setting proper expectations and de-risking a percentage of your portfolio while the majority of the market is behaving greedily. I sat through the end of 2017 being new to the crypto market holding a (much smaller) bag, not knowing any better. I've regretted not knowing better, but have committed to an improved and more educated strategy moving forward. I've joined this forum and have done extensive research since

  19. around 24 min - i think the second analyst question - they do a great job explaining the consumer vs. back-end sides of sending money cross-boarder and for the first time ever we can settle the back-end process as "near to instant as humanly possible" and getting rid of all the money "trapped in transit". Great stuff...the vision becoming reality.

  23. How is this a use case suitable for btc?, this is like uh oh our network sucks so we because it’s practically impossible to scale we will just use it as a store of value. first line of that page mentions an asset that doesn’t depreciate. So 20k to 3k in a year makes a super store of value if you use btc to underlay a currency or somthing else.

  24. If XRP cant succeed, none other crypto will succeed. invest in what makes you comfortable. If everyone can become a millionaire overnight, there will be no value for the money. Take calculated risk. I have increased my XRP portfolio by 50% from 2017 to till date. Still adding and I am ALL in on XRP only. I have never sold a single XRP till date.

  25. Did the same comparison for $5k payment and there was rough difference of about $8 aud. And western union was more expensive by above amount, which shows that as the amount increases moneygram looks more and more attractive vs other players.

  29. Who knows...? The implication is that they are, and if the issuing gateway is trustworthy then they should be. If the IOU can be sold for market value then that means that the market as a whole trusts that the issuer holds the asset 1:1. No, Gatehub's Bitcoin will always be linked to Gatehub, and is distinct from any other. You can create your own BTC IOU of you want, but no-one will buy it from you because they can tell it's not backed by any of the trusted gateways. When you send a BTC IOU to another address, two things happen on the ledger: 1) The amount of BTC that the gate

XRPChat community swoops in: your dreams are dumb, your thoughts are toxic and also: the price will never hit X On topic: I assume, if we hit the kind of price OP mentioned, we could probably just transfer our crypto stacks to insured (!) safe institutions, which would let us spend it via a credit card or sth like that. that would be my preferred way to use it. no tranferring etc. i would then

On topic: Bank transfer to my main local bank, then diversify to different accounts spread across all premium tier banks that will let me do whatever I want with my money. Then I'd buy my local football club, fire everybody and close it's doors permanently. I'd proceed by going on the biggest coke-and-hookers-binge the world has ever seen. I do have a certain finesse, a certain touch and charme while making people ridiculous, one simply can’t suppress a smile and ignore the love that fills the frightened heart while being bashed by me. 42. You're not thinking long-term! This money serves many purposes. Ripple and XRP gain direct exposure to senior faculty at the most prestigious technical and engineering universities around the globe and therefore are cast in a great light in front of the next generation of brilliant engineers. Also, many of these Universities participate as validators in the XRP ecosystem allowing XRP to continue further decentralization. The fruits of these investments will be plentiful in several years.
