  3. Every time someone signs the petition, Change.org sends a message to the 50+ members of Congress that the campaign is targeting. If enough people sign, it will definitely have an effect.
  4. Good morning everyone! Chris and I had a great time with family yesterday. I hope y'all had a great day as well! I have a lot of posts and emails to respond to this morning. In the late afternoon I'm going to go meet-up with some of the Houston XRP Community at Rice University. If you are local, please join us! If you are a study group participant, please: Introduce yourself here: Chat: [Study Group] Introduce Yourselves Please also read this status thread: List: Bob's Study Group TL;DR Meet your new friends here: Chat: [Study Group] General Welcome Discussion Once I've answered all my personal correspondence, I'm going to create some other organizational threads. I'd like to solicit your help in working through the remaining open topics.
  5. It does feel like that doesn't it. So exciting! Please everyone read the other member's introduction posts. If you see someone from your region, language, or culture, please introduce yourself here or via personal message. I'd like you all to consider forming some regional teams. Both for learning support, and second to leverage each other's skills in adapting the study material to your region and audience. I'll help get the study group discussions started. But I really need a commitment from all of you to continue the discussion with others. That is the only thing that will make this project truly worthwhile.

  7. In general a "bank" is better used for implementing local fiat currencies on the XRP Ledger. This would allow their customers a choice of assets to hold and the ability to freely convert between them. You never "need" a bank to hold XRP. Anyone can do that themselves by simply creating an address on the ledger. However, you might "want" a bank or other entity to hold XRP for you. Now I know lots of people in the cryptocurrency space will tell you *never* let someone else hold your cryptocurrency. But the more appropriate explaining is *always* understand exactly what is happening technically with your XRP and also *why* that is beneficial or a drawback for you personally. One reason for allowing a "bank" to hold your XRP might be that the bank can provide you some financial privacy where XRP Ledger balances and activity are public. For some situations that is preferable. In other situations transparency would be more beneficial. It is always up to the XRP owner to decide. There are drawbacks to using a "bank" as well. The banking party likely must comply with local rules for KYC & AML. (Know your customer & anti-money laundering). So you might not be able to remain pseudonymous. Also, a bank could deny you access to your XRP funds. (Perhaps upon direction from their government regulators.). The "bank" might also have a security breach or corruption problem in which they lose your XRP entirely. As cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible, understanding if and how your "bank" can compensate you for such a lost is imperative to you making an informed decision. I plan to have an in-depth discussion of these advantages and drawbacks as part of the study group project.
  8. I know only one entity in that region which could help - but at first they need to blink in July.
  9. I agree with @Ripple-Stiltskin in regards to diversification. Chasing pumps however usually leads to losing money. Be very careful with this thinking and good luck with whatever you decide to do.
  10. The article mentions "CLMV countries" aka Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. Unless there are exchanges or market makers offering KHR/XRP, LAK/XRP, MMK/XRP, or VND/XRP, I don't see how this could be xRapid. Currently I'm not aware of the existence of those pairings. My guess would be that this is most likely xCurrent.
  11. Oh give him a break and stop being true to your name
  12. Pretty sure i remember this being xcurrent. Honestly not quite sure they would even have the liquidity needed yet for xrapid.

I’m 7Gen in Israel my family as a part of building and defending this nation. my goal for this group is to figure out how we can bring XRP to the messes in Israel i know that in a global perspective we are very small in numbers but still. my time zone is (UTC+2:00 Jerusalem time) and can be found on twitter as: @mitranix and on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/eyal.mitrani.7 I’m pretty sure that if we can provide business a quick way to send and more impotent withdrew XRP to fiat and vice versa they will be more than happy to use it instead of the traditional banks. i know that some of my clients that have branches in India, Colombia, and Europe will be more than happy to use it as money transfer solution instead of swift. my hope is to be a part of this group to learn and to contribute any way i can in this XRP ADVENTURE cheers eyal
