Ripple Labs, the global leader in distributed ledger technology and supporters of the Ripple protocol, is being awarded as one of the World Economic Forum's "Technology Pioneers" for its innovative distributed ledger technology in Davos Switzerland.

The World Economic Forum's Technology Pioneers programme recognizes early-stage companies from around the world that are involved in the design, development and deployment of new technologies, and are poised to have a significant impact on business and society.

Launched in 2000, each year Technology Pioneers are awarded. Past selected companies include: Agios Pharmaceuticals, AirBnb, Azuri Technologies, EcoNation, Google, Kickstarter, MC10, Nest, SoundCloud, TaKaDu, Tobii Technology and Twitter.
